I bring my perspectives as an immigrant, a woman of color and an adoptive mom to my work -- important perspectives as we face challenging times with implicit and systemic bias and in our criminal justice system.
In my private work in Family and Criminal courts, I have come to appreciate good judges even more - ones who are fair, compassionate (empathetic), respectful, diligent, efficient, smart, knowledgeable and wise.
I believe I can bring these qualities to the Bench. My work as an advocate, teacher, and volunteer in the law shows that I have the skills and the temperament to do the job.
Throughout my education and career, I have been inspired and nurtured by pioneering men of color and strong women. And in turn, I have been an advocate for diversity and inclusion, a resource, and a role model for young aspiring lawyers and students. I hope that someday soon I can be a role model for someone’s aspirations to be a judge.
